to try? This one-day workshop serves as an
introduction to pastel painting. Join
Michael Chesley Johnson, PSA, PSNM, as he
leads you on a fun "hands-on" tour of the
world of pastel. Experiment with different
surfaces and brands of pastel and learn
different techniques. You'll discover what
an easy medium this is to work with! |

WORKSHOP - PAINT THE LANDSCAPE
IN PASTEL (plein air)
Join Michael Chesley
Johnson, PSA, PSNM, as he paints
the Sedona "Red Rock Country" in
pastel on-location. You'll learn
his approach of first
"abstracting" the landscape
quickly and expressively with
just a few values and colors and
then adding as much realism as
desired with more accurate color
and strokes. |

learn the fundamentals of "plein air"
painting including Carlson's principles of
value and color in the landscape. Michael
will also show you his advanced techniques
for creating small studies and "loosening"
up your technique. |
